The IRIDE project, funded by the Italian PNRR (Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza), will build and deploy a constellation of satellites for earth observation. IRIDE will provide services to combat hydrogeological instability and fires, protect coasts, and monitor critical infrastructures and weather conditions.
The consortium, spearheaded by Telespazio, a Leonardo and Thales 67/33 joint venture, has been awarded 21M by the European Space Agency to develop the mission control centre that will operate the IRIDE constellation. AIKO's contribution will consist of implementing automated workflows for predictive maintenance and data-driven satellite health monitoring, ingesting streams of near real-time telemetry data from the whole constellation.
"Due to its complex architecture and large number of satellites, IRIDE requires high levels of operational autonomy to ensure constant delivery of valuable Earth intelligence services to end users over time. With AIKO's data-driven operations and state-of-the-art artificial intelligence technology, iride is poised to become a pioneering earth observation system with world-class capabilities."
